Serious warning for anyone who stores eggs in the fridge without giving it a second thought
Ignoring proper egg storage advice can lead to salmonella.

Egg consumption worries experts due to a lack of knowledge about the correct way to store them. Eggs are very sensitive to temperature changes, bumps, and even odors. One wrong step and the risk of salmonella infection increases significantly, even if the eggs appear to be in good condition.
Many refrigerators come with their own egg trays, but experts do not recommend storing eggs in the refrigerator door. The optimal way is to keep them at a temperature of 39°F (4°C) and maintain a consistent temperature.
To avoid bumps and odors that could spoil the eggs, it’s best to keep them in their original carton. This also helps track the expiration date and pay attention to the labeling, which according to the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), is essential to prevent salmonella. Additionally, eggs should be consumed in the order they were purchased.
It is essential not to use damaged eggs and to avoid contact between eggs and raw meat. If you beat eggs to use later, the mixture should be kept covered in the fridge and used within 24 hours.
Poor egg storage can promote the growth of harmful bacteria like salmonella. Therefore, it’s important to avoid leaving eggs out of the refrigerator or storing them in the wrong place.
