Update:

Not everybody has a favorite color, but if you do, it might say more about your personality than you think, including how intelligent you appear to others.

The hidden meanings behind colors

Most colors are linked to different traits, both positive and negative. Red, for instance, is often associated with passion and love, but also with danger and aggression. Yellow is considered a sign of happiness, hope, and warmth, yet some see it as a symbol of deceit or cowardice.

White is seen as representing clarity, order, precision, and purity. It’s also generally associated with professionalism, which explains why doctors in many countries wear white coats and why white shirts are a business staple.

Black carries a similar weight in the professional world due to its connection with power, elegance, and authority. Black suits are especially versatile, suitable for both weddings and funerals, and tend to project confidence and sophistication.

The color linked to intelligence

When it comes to character traits - and intelligence in particular - there’s one color that stands out above the rest.

Blue is widely seen as a color of calmness, trust, stability, loyalty, and truth. Psychologists say intelligence can be added to that list, which helps explain why blue is one of the most common colors in professional settings.

Why blue dominates business and branding

Studies show that navy blue is the most popular color of suit for men, many of whom may not realize the impression it conveys.

Walmart, United Airlines, Samsung, Ford, AT&T, Warner Bros., American Express, and Visa.

These are just a few of the many global brands that use blue as their dominant color, and for good reason. It helps them project reliability, calmness, and/or security, depending on the nature of their business.

So, whether you’re picking an outfit, choosing a logo, or just thinking about your favorite shade, remember that color can say a lot about you, sometimes without you even realizing it.
