Not France or Belgium: This European country will have the highest percentage of Muslims in 2050
According to the Pew Research Centre, Muslims are the world’s fastest-growing and second-largest religious group.

Based on projections, the European country projected to have the highest percentage of Muslims in 2050 is Kosovo, with an estimated Muslim population share of 95.2% (according to data cited from a Pew Research Center study).
Other countries projected to have a very high percentage are:
Albania (estimated at 85.9%)
Republic of Macedonia (estimated at 56.2%)
Bosnia-Herzegovina (estimated at 49.4%)

These high percentages are typical of the Balkan region, which has a long-established, indigenous Muslim population.
In Western European countries, the highest percentages are projected under a “medium migration” scenario to be much lower, with Sweden often cited as potentially having the largest share among those countries. When it comes to western Europe nations, Sweden is projected to have one of the highest percentages in Western Europe, depending on migration levels:
Sweden’s Muslim population is projected to reach approximately 30.6% by 2050, which would be the highest among the Western European countries studied under that high migration scenario.
Sweden's population is over 10.0% Muslim now, and nearly 30% foreign-born.

Quite an increase from the 0.3% Muslim in 1980,
the 1.2% in 1990,
the 3.4% in 2000,
the 5.1% in 2009, and even
the 8.1% in 2016.

In all scenarios, the established Muslim-majority/high-percentage countries in the Balkans are projected to remain at the top of the overall list for Europe.
