Update:

Jane Goodall, the legendary chimpanzee expert and conservationist, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on 1 October in Los Angeles. However, before she left this world, she sat down for a series of interviews that have been released posthumously in a Netflix documentary.

In the streaming platform’s Dr. Jane Goodall: ‘Famous Last Words’ she says that the world is facing “dark times” but that “there is still hope.” The famous primatologist also didn’t hold back on those who are part of the problem and should be put on one of Elon Musk’s spaceships and sent to “the planet [Musk’s] sure to discover.”

Goodall: “Put them all on that spaceship and send them off”

While the conversation between Brad Falchuk and Goodall primarily focused on her life and work, he asked her if there were any people that she doesn’t like. “Absolutely, there are people I don’t like,” responded the conservationist.

“And I would like to put them on one of Musk’s spaceships and send them all off to the planet he’s sure to discover,” she added.

When he inquired if Musk would be one of them, she didn’t hesitate to say, “Oh absolutely. He’d be the host. And you can imagine who I’d put on that spaceship.”

Goodall said that the tech billionaire should be joined on the space odyssey by Trump, who she has previously said reminds her of a male chimpanzee, along with his “real supporters.” As well, she though Putin and President Xi should go along for the ride off planet and said, “I’d certainly put Netanyahu in there and his far-right government.”

“Put them all on that spaceship and send them off,” she emphasized.

“Don’t give up. There is a future for you”

Goodall wanted to send home a message of hope with her final words and make everyone understand “each and everyone of you has a role to play.”

“I want you to know that whether or not you find that role that you’re supposed to play, your life does matter,” she explained. “And that every single day you live, you make a difference in the world, and you get to choose the difference that you make.”

“I want you to understand that we are part of the natural world,” Goodall shared. “And even today, where the planet is dark, there is still hope. Don’t lose hope. If you lose hope, you become apathetic and do nothing.

She called on people to “do everything in our power to make the world a better place for the children alive today and for those that will follow.”

“You have it in your power to make a difference,” she assured. “Don’t give up. There is a future for you.”

“Do your best while you’re still on this beautiful planet Earth that I look down upon from where I am now,” she said urging people to action.
