McDonald’s is bringing back this old school promotion that Gen-Xers and boomers are going to love

The fast-food giant revives its iconic Monopoly game with cash prizes for the winners.

The boomers will be dabbing in the youth clubs at the news that McDonald’s has announced the return of its iconic Monopoly game. Set to launch on October 6, 2025, the return marks its first appearance in nearly a decade.

However, before that, pre-registration is available from September 29 to October 5 for those who simply cannot wait any longer; with that, they’ll be granted 500 bonus MyMcDonald’s Rewards points.

However, there are a few changes in this modern age. To join the fun, customers must first download the McDonald’s app and register for the game. Once registered, players can collect game pieces by purchasing select menu items, either in-store or through the app. These pieces may contain Instant Win prizes or collectible property pieces that add together to create to larger rewards.

This year’s prize pool is estimated at over $471 million, featuring a variety of rewards:

  • Instant Win Prizes: Free food, MyMcDonald’s Rewards points, and collectible property pieces.
  • Major Prizes: A $1 million cash prize, a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, $10,000 Lowe’s shopping sprees, and 1 million American Airlines AAdvantage miles.
  • Bonus Play: A second-chance opportunity to win additional prizes, including Uber Eats gift cards and trips to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

  • Filet-O-Fish
  • McMuffin Sandwiches
  • 10-piece Chicken McNuggets
  • 20-piece Chicken McNuggets
  • Large fries
  • Hash browns
  • Large fountain drink
  • Large iced tea
  • Large McCafé iced coffee
  • McCafé drinks
