Mark Cuban and other billionaires who’ve shown interest in Elon Musk’s new political party
Mark Cuban, who has not ruled out a presidential run, was quick to show support for Musk’s ‘America Party.’

Elon Musk has announced that he will be forming a new political party, which he is calling the America Party. On July 5, Musk posted on X that the U.S. was a “one-party system, not a democracy.”
“Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” declared the billionaire.
Already, he’s receiving support from others in his tax bracket, including Mark Cuban. The billionaire businessman reposted Musk’s announcement with a fire emoji, and later followed up with: “I work with the Center for Competitive Democracy. They will help you get on ballots. That is their mission.”

Cuban’s presidential plans?
Rules for getting candidates on the ballot vary from state to state, and Cuban’s messages appear to support the effort to launch a new party. However, the America Party has yet to articulate a clear platform.
Cuban, who has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign and supported other Democratic candidates, including Barack Obama, has said that if he were to run for president, it would be as a Republican. He made those comments on Fox News, describing himself as “socially a centrist... but very fiscally conservative.” Over the years, he has floated the idea of running for president but has ultimately decided against it, citing his family as the main reason.
Musk has suggested that he’s not interested in the America Party running a presidential campaign. However, if he believed a ticket with Cuban at the top could win, the two might come to an agreement. Anthony Scaramucci, who served in the first Trump administration as White House Press Secretary for a little over a week, also expressed interest in collaborating with Musk.
