The internet has long mocked Stephen Miller – White House deputy chief of staff for policy and Donald Trump’s architect of his hardline immigration agenda – but lately, the jokes have taken on a more personal tone.

Searches for “How tall is Stephen Miller?” for example, have surged as social media users circulate memes speculating about his height.

That question made its way to Fox News this week, where The Ingraham Angle aired an Instagram clip of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) teasing Miller as “4’10.” Laughing, she said, “He looks like he is so mad that he’s 4′10″, that he’s taken that anger out on any other population possible.”

In real life, Miller’s 2020 voter registration lists him at 5ft 9in. Confronted on air, he fired back: “We knew that her brain didn’t work. Now we know her eyes don’t work… What a trainwreck.” Host Laura Ingraham reassured him, “You’re about 5’11,” to which he replied, “Five-ten.”

After the segment aired, Ocasio-Cortez quote-tweeted the clip, writing, “I cannot believe they aired this and made him listen to it live. I am crying.”

Miller’s wife, Katie, was quickly summoned to Fox to fight back with her own personal attacks:
