How an engineer created his own Iron Man suit from recycled materials
A YouTube user has achieved every child’s dream: making a functional Iron Man suit.

Alex Burkan — that’s the name of the first real-life Man of Steel. This Russian engineer has made the dream of millions of Marvel fans come true: building a fully functional Iron Man suit. He began with the hydrogen reactor that brought Tony Stark to life, then moved on to crafting the arms and helmet.
Burkan spent six years constructing the armor from scratch, using nothing but scrap metal and the tools in his garage. He’s the complete opposite of the typical millionaire content creator who relies on cutting-edge tech for quick results. Instead, Burkan embraces a humble, hands-on approach — raw, creative, and without shortcuts.
The core he built powers the entire system that shapes the armor, surrounded by protective plating and equipped with plasma thrusters. Yes, plasma thrusters. The suit also features a range of sensors that make the design even more sophisticated.
His YouTube channel has already gained more than 1.5 million subscribers across just 58 videos — an incredible number given the average video-to-subscriber ratio. Clearly, it’s feats like these that capture people’s imagination.

Beyond the viral clips, Burkan is documenting a kind of visual history on his channel, showing in detail how each part of the suit comes to life — from 3D modeling and design to final assembly on the workbench. There’s something magnetic about it: watching the pieces come together has its own quiet magic.
