“Heavy rain is expected across upstate New York and New England from Thursday night into Friday, and across the Pacific Northwest from Friday into Saturday,” reported the Weather Prediction Center (WPC).

Forecasters warn of widespread downpours and potential flooding, with rainfall totals reaching up to four inches before the storm subsides. Coastal flood alerts are in effect for southeastern and southwestern Suffolk, southern Queens, and southern Nassau counties. The heavy rain and possible flooding could cause transportation delays, so residents are urged to check conditions before traveling.
