Cold front hits Texas this weekend: Affected areas and temperatures
Scattered storms and cooler weather are coming to Texas this weekend, warns the National Weather Service (NWS).

The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that a cold front moving into Texas will bring scattered storms and a drop in temperatures this weekend.
A cold front marks the boundary between two air masses, with colder, denser air replacing warmer air. Hot and dry conditions will persist across north and central Texas through Friday, but scattered thunderstorms (30–70% chance) are expected Saturday. A few storms could be strong to severe, mainly along and east of the I-35 corridor.
Sunday will bring cooler, fall-like weather, followed by a gradual warm-up starting Monday. Two weaker cold fronts are forecast to pass through the region next week, keeping temperatures mild. Rain chances remain low after the weekend, though waterfall could return late next week.
The real cooldown Saturday will arrive overnight, w/ lows dropping into the 50s. Sunday will be pleasant before a quick warm up into the 80s/90s Monday. Breezy conditions and low humidity in addition to the warmth will lead to an elevated fire threat west of I-35. #dfwwx #ctxwx pic.twitter.com/r3RBUL0cIJ

Texas weekend weather forecast
The NWS expects the system to move into west Texas on Saturday morning, helping trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low-level winds will strengthen before sunrise and showers could develop across parts of North Texas, spreading eastward through the day.
“Isolated to scattered, strong to severe thunderstorms are expected along and east of I-35,” the NWS said, adding that the tornado threat remains low.
Storms will taper off Saturday night as cooler air pushes in behind the front. Overnight lows will range from the 40s to 50s in north Texas and the 50s to 60s in central Texas.
Cooler, more seasonal weather will settle on Sunday with highs around 70°F and overnight lows dipping into the 40s and 50s. Another weak cold front is expected between Monday night and Tuesday, though it is not expected to bring additional rain.
