China unveils a mega-structure the size of the Eiffel Tower that’s changing the game forever
China has unveiled one of the most impressive engineering feats on the planet.

China continues to surprise the world, consistently excelling across a wide range of fields and industries. Its latest achievement is the inauguration of one of the most remarkable energy engineering projects on the planet: the Lianghekou Hydroelectric Power Plant.
Located in a mountainous region 3,000 metres above sea level in Yajiang County, under the administration of the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in western Sichuan Province, Lianghekou stands as a feat of modern engineering. The dam reaches a height of 295 metres, comparable to the Eiffel Tower, and is capable of producing 11 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
Construction of the Lianghekou project began in 2014. It is expected to provide power to large areas of southwest China while reinforcing vital economic routes such as the Yangtze River corridor. Situated along the main course of the Yalong River, it is the highest-altitude hydroelectric facility in the country.
