A worker explains why he has returned to his country despite earning more than $250 a day: “We’re only halfway there”
Speaking to a Romanian outlet, a man has described his experience of returning to his homeland after living and working abroad.

Many people end up seeking a better life far from home, driven by the promise of improved economic and professional opportunities. That was the case for Alin, a Romanian truck driver who earned £200 ($270) a day in England - but ultimately chose to return to Romania. Why? To chase a dream.
After a decade working in the U.K., Alin told a Romanian outlet: “I gave up my income there to pursue an ambition I had.” He spent ten years living in Coventry, a city about 100 miles northwest of London, working as a truck driver for major companies like Amazon, Eddie Stobart and Hermes. It wasn’t an easy chapter, but it was one where he gave everything he had to make a living.

Now back in Romania, Alin has decided to launch his own business. He purchased land in a village in Gorj County, whose capital is Târgu Jiu, located in the historic region of Wallachia. His plan? To invest everything he earned in England into building a quail farm.
“I gave up the money I was making there to fulfill a dream in Romania,” Alin said. “I bought land, built a facility, and laid the foundation for the first quail farm in Gorj County.” He expects his total investment to be over $65,000: “We’re only halfway there in terms of investment, but in the next two to three years I hope that my farm will have over 20,000 quails and be one of the largest in the country.”
“My place is here”
A man returning to his roots, Alin is clear about where he belongs: “I earned good money in England and I respect that country, but Romania is more beautiful - and my place is here, among the hills, in the open air.”
