Victoria Beckham has lived much of her life in the public eye, from her days as Posh Spice in the Spice Girls to her current role as a global fashion icon.

Over the years, she’s shared glimpses of her wellness philosophy but one thing has remained remarkably consistent. Throughout, she has maintained a disciplined approach to eating.

Back in 2008, during an appearance on Gordon Ramsay’s Perfect Christmas Lunch for the BBC, a then–32-year-old Beckham said she took a no-nonsense approach to food.

“I try to be quite disciplined in the way I eat,” she said. “I love Japanese food — lots of fish, vegetables and fruit, that sort of thing.”

More than a decade later, not much has changed. In interviews from 2008 through 2020, Beckham has repeatedly credited her diet’s simplicity — built on three main pillars: fish, vegetables and fruit. Though she’s since cut back slightly on fruit to reduce bloating, her meals still center around fresh fish, leafy greens, salads and nuts.

A Mediterranean Approach to Eating

Beckham’s diet closely mirrors the Mediterranean diet, which has been consistently ranked the best overall diet by U.S. News & World Report. The plan emphasizes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, fish, poultry, nuts and healthy fats, while keeping red meat, processed foods and sweets to a minimum.

Studies have linked this way of eating to a lower risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, and experts often cite it as one of the most sustainable approaches to long-term health.

Despite her reputation for structure and precision, Beckham has admitted she’s not overly rigid. Most mornings start with a green juice made with vegetables and ginger but she also enjoys date nights with husband David Beckham, often accompanied by a glass of red wine or tequila.

That balance, she’s said, is key to maintaining both her health and happiness. It’s a wellness philosophy that blends consistency with enjoyment — a formula that’s clearly worked for her since the Spice Girls era.
