This is the real reason why Richard Gere and wife Alejandra Silva returned to the U.S. after one year in Spain
Despite planning to stay in Madrid for several years, the couple has been forced to return to the United States.

In recent days, Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva’s sudden departure from Spain to return to the United States has taken many people by surprise. Since arriving in the Spanish capital just over a year ago, both the actor and the businesswoman have never hesitated to say, whenever they had the chance, how happy they were in the city.
However, almost overnight, something changed, leading the high-profile couple to make the drastic decision to leave their luxurious mansion in Madrid’s exclusive La Moraleja neighborhood and return to the land of stars and stripes, where they had lived just before moving to Spain.
Since the news broke, there have been many rumors speculating about the possible reasons that may have led the couple to leave Spain and return to the U.S. Tax avoidance and gastronomy are just some of the many reasons that have been put forward as the cause of the couple’s departure. However, the reality is quite different.
Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva’s return to the United States is motivated by a variety of reasons. From the actor’s desire to spend more time with Homer Gere, his eldest son, to work commitments and possible vacations on the beaches of Mexico, there are several explanations for the couple’s return to the United States.
An unexpected change of plans, the real cause
According to the newspaper El Español, an unexpected change of plans is behind the decision made by Gere and Silva.
Despite being happy in Spain, Gere’s hectic travel schedule for work and his foundation often takes him to the U.S. and around the world.

It became more practical to have their family base on the other side of the Atlantic. Their two young sons (and Alejandra’s older son) were born and raised in the U.S., and moving back was simpler for their current routine, including being back in school in the United States.
However, Richard Gere, as he clearly demonstrated in a recent interview with ¡Hola! magazine, has nothing but fond words for our country: “Our family spent a year in Spain, and the most important thing I can say is that Alejandra was truly happy with her family, her friends, her culture, her city, and the food,” he said.
