The stars of ‘Stranger Things’ speak out about their characters’ endings and anticipate changes that not everyone will like
The actors of the series give their opinions on what we can expect from the much-anticipated final season.

The final season of Stranger Things is drawing closer, but if anyone is more eager for it to arrive than we are, it’s the cast.
In every interview, they seem increasingly restless, keen to discuss the plot and tease what’s to come. In a new round of promotional appearances, the main actors have shared some hints about the ending, suggesting that not everyone will be happy with how things wrap up.
Expect a traumatised Lucas, a Will who says goodbye by heading off alone with Robin, and a very different, rebellious Dustin.

Let’s start with Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, and who seems the most upbeat of the group: “I was very, very satisfied. I felt it far exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t imagine a moment of that magnitude. Reading the result, it ended in the best possible way as far as my character was concerned.”
Caleb McLaughlin, by contrast, was more enigmatic: “Lucas is deeply traumatised by what happened to Max. He harbours thoughts of revenge and believes he could have helped her. His greatest wish is for Max to recover and be well. He’s going to have to deal with that internally.”
Also worth noting are the comments from the actors who play Will and Dustin. Noah Schnapp, who portrays Will, believes that after his memorable scene confirming his character’s sexuality, his arc with the group, Eleven, and Mike has concluded. As a result, in the final season, he’ll be spending more time with Robin. Meanwhile, Gaten Matarazzo teases a more defiant side to Dustin, who once again teams up with Steve.

SNL host Glaser: a staunch ‘Swiftie’
“The gang has always been a group of misfits, but at least they were misfits together. This season, Dustin stands apart from them. It’s by choice; he seems to want to leave the others behind. For some reason, people often push away their biggest supporters just when they need them most. That’s something Dustin is clearly struggling with at the start of the new season. I imagine something happened to him between seasons. There wasn’t exactly a memorial or a funeral for Eddie to help him process his loss. That’s why he’s affected and starts showing up at school dressed and behaving the way he does now, with a very unpleasant attitude.”
