Robert Pattinson: “When you turn 30, you realize that if you just wait for your agent to call you, you’re dead”
The Twilight actor reflected on a sensational career at the top of the acting world.

At 39, Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson has reflected on the evolution of his career and personal life, recognising the importance of proactive decision-making in both realms.
Emerging from the “Twilight” saga, Pattinson transitioned from a teen heartthrob to a respected actor known for his roles in films like High Life and Tenet.
In a recent interview with ICON, Pattinson discussed the challenges of portraying more conventional characters after years of playing eccentric roles. He expressed that shifting from “strange” personas to more relatable characters was something he was ready for: “Generally, I’m attracted to strange characters, but I was dying to play normal guys... I’m also drawn to eccentric scripts… I love that kind of anger."

Pattinson on upcoming project
Professionally, Pattinson’s upcoming projects include Die, My Love, a psychological drama directed by Lynne Ramsay, and Mickey 17, a sci-fi film by Bong Joon Ho. He also has roles in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and a sequel to The Batman in the pipeline.
Die, My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay and starring Jennifer Lawrence, is set against the backdrop of postpartum depression and fractured relationships. He notes, “The hardest part of the work was the scenes where Jen’s character goes through her darkest moments.”
“I love working on the scenes where I respond to her. Here, I play an extremely normal guy who doesn’t have the skills or tools to deal with what’s happening in his relationship. And I think that’s how most people feel when their partner is unhinged.”

Beyond acting, Pattinson has taken an active role in production, launching his company Icki Eneo Arlo. “At a certain point, maybe when you turn 30, you realize that if you limit yourself to waiting for your agent to call, you’re dead. Some like to keep their distance and only appear between ‘action’ and ‘cut.’ But I like to have multiple things going." It seems that there’s no stopping Patterson right now.
