Estados Unidos Update:

Sixteen years on from his death, Michael Jackson continues to make history.

The “King of Pop” has become the first artist ever to reach the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 in six different decades, proving that his music really does transcend generations.

His latest re-entry came as “Thriller” jumped from No. 32 to No. 10 on the November 2025 chart. The spike was fueled by Halloween streams and renewed buzz surrounding the trailer for his upcoming biopic.

Jackson first entered the Top 10 as a solo artist back in November 1971 with “Got to Be There.” This means that his Top 10 career now spans the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s, an unmatched run that cements his place in music history. His closest rival is Andy Williams, who managed Top 10 hits in five decades.

During the week of the chart’s release, “Thriller” racked up 14 million streams in the United States. It reached a radio audience of 9.3 million, and sold 3,000 digital and physical copies, boosted by a renewed surge in his catalog.

In an industry obsessed with what’s new, Michael Jackson proves that some music truly is timeless. His latest chart triumph reminds the world that his sound, dance and showmanship aren’t relics of the past but a living force in global pop culture.
