Jennifer Lawrence reveals what it was like shooting sex scenes with Robert Pattinson in ‘Die My Love’
Jennifer Lawrence shares behind-the-scenes details on her steamy scenes with Robert Pattinson and why she trusted him completely on set.

Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson are back in the spotlight with “Die My Love,” Lynne Ramsey’s darkly comic drama that opens in U.S. theaters on Friday, November 7.
Both actors have recently spoken about how their on-screen careers have evolved in recent years, in which they have relinquished some of the spotlight they once dominated.
Lawrence opens up about politics and career shifts
Speaking on The New York Times’ “The Interview” podcast, Lawrence revealed she believes her outspoken political views and criticism of President Donald Trump had a negative impact on her career.
Pattinson, meanwhile, discussed his shift toward producing and directing during an interview with ICON magazine. “When you turn 30, you realize that if you limit yourself to waiting for your agent to call, you’re dead,” he claimed.
What is “Die My Love” about?
In “Die My Love,” Lawrence plays Grace, a young mother who spirals into postpartum depression and psychosis alongside her partner Jackson, portrayed by Pattinson.
The movie is rated R for language, sexual content, and graphic nudity.
Lawrence on nudity and artistic freedom
Despite being among the victims of the 2014 celebrity photo leak, Lawrence has continued to embrace full nudity in her work, revealing in 2018 it made her feel empowered.
“I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it,” Lawrence said during a screening of “Die My Love.” “I wanted Lynne to have total freedom artistically. I think being pregnant took a lot of, like, vanity anxiety away. I remember them sending over a close-up of cellulite and being like, ‘Do you want us to touch this up?’ And I was like, ‘No. That’s an ass.’”
Lawrence and Pattison skip intimacy coordinator
The film includes several intimate scenes between Grace and Jackson, which Lawrence and Pattinson chose to shoot without an intimacy coordinator, a role that has become increasingly common in recent years.
While not mandatory, major streaming platforms such as Amazon and Netflix now require coordinators for intimate scenes to ensure safety standards are met.
Lawrence explained that she and Pattinson felt completely comfortable working without one.
“We did not have an intimacy coordinator, or maybe we did but we didn’t really... I felt really safe with Rob,” Lawrence said on the “Las Culturistas” podcast. “He is not pervy and very in love with Suki Waterhouse. We mostly were just talking about our kids and relationships. There was never any weird, like, ‘Does he think I like him?’ If there was a little bit of that I would probably have an intimacy coordinator. A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to fuck them, and then the punishment starts. He was not like that.”
Cannes premiere and critical buzz
“Die My Love” had its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in May, where it was nominated for the Palme d’Or, the festival’s highest honor for best feature film.
