Isla Fisher after her $75 million divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen: “I have the opportunity to reinvent from scratch what will be my final act”
The actress opens up about her divorce, why she’s not ready to date again, and the movie projects defining her next chapter.

Actress Isla Fisher split from her husband, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, in 2023 — though they didn’t announce the news until April 5, 2024, in classic fashion:
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy and have been quietly working through this change. We will forever share our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
Born to Scottish parents but raised in Australia, Fisher is focusing on the positives at the end of her marriage. According to multiple entertainment outlets, the couple’s divorce settlement was reportedly worth around $75 million.
Speaking to The Australian, she said what amazes her most is that she now has “this opportunity, in a positive way, to reinvent what the last act of my life is now from the ground up.”
Don’t get your hopes up, suitors
As for potential suitors, they shouldn’t be getting their hopes up. Fisher has confirmed she is “not ready” to date again. Right now, her focus is on making movies. “That’s not on my to-do list. I’m not ready to think about any of that.”
Fisher has several projects about to see the light of day, including the third installment of the Now You See Me heist franchise, in which she stars as Henley Reeves after skipping the second film; Spa Weekend, a female ensemble comedy shot in Queensland, Australia, with Leslie Mann, Anna Faris, and Michelle Buteau; and Playdate, an action-comedy film scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video on November 12, 2025.
