Hilary Duff reveals plans to return to music: Why did the singer stop performing 10 years ago?
The former Disney star is back with a new tour and album after stepping away from music for over 10 years.

Having teased a comeback earlier this year, Hilary Duff revealed she will perform her first live shows in over a decade in January 2026.
Duff’s upcoming “Small Rooms, Big Nerves” tour includes just four dates, kicking off in London on January 19. Shows in Toronto, New York City, and Los Angeles will follow over the next 10 days.

From child star to pop sensation
After achieving fame as a child actress, Duff released four studio albums and toured extensively between 2002 and 2008, becoming a major pop star. Her second album, “Hilary Duff,” third album, “Dignity,” and first compilation, “Most Wanted,” all earned platinum or gold certifications.
Hilary Duff explains music hiatus
Duff eventually stepped away from music to focus on acting and family. She married NHL player Mike Comrie in 2010, and they had a son in 2012. After their divorce in 2016, Duff married singer-songwriter Matthew Koma in 2019, and the couple now has three daughters together.
Speaking with Access Hollywood in December 2023, Duff said she always planned to return to music but raising young children made it hard to dedicate time to songwriting.
“I always am thinking about it,” she explained. “I never wanna blame my kids for this, but I’m so immersed in motherhood right now, and it’s so much easier to book an acting job and be like, ‘Okay, I have to be at work at 6 a.m. and then I’m gonna be done by 9 tonight and then I’m gonna be home.’”
“I really do believe that I’ll just one day be like, ‘I have to do it,’” she added of resuming her music career. “There’s going to be something that comes over me, and just like, I have to do it.”
Now, Duff has decided the time is right, with her first live shows in more than 10 years just over two months away.
